Today I am super excited to share a small mini collection that I just recently completed. At the beginning of summer, my daughter and I decided to take on a new medium for painting and purchased a 24-color tray of jelly gouache. I have been experimenting with it and allowing myself to learn and create without any specific goal in mind beyond learning the medium, learning how to feel comfortable using it, and allowing myself to explore.
I’ve used gouache in a tube before and have created a few mini collections with those designs. I find that there are not that many differences and while the texture is a bit different, once I get the paint to the right consistency the painting process is very similar.
One of the challenges I found is that it is still hard for me to mix the right amount of color. I love combining colors to create unique colors outside of the main ones provided in the little tubs. Learning to mix the right amount to finish a design, and to create additional motifs in case I want to expand a collection is something I need to continue to work on.
This Blue Flowers and Moths mini collection was fun to create and simple because it came out of this fun jelly gouache exploration.

It is a lovely collection with timeless colors. This Blue Flowers and Moths mini collection is great for stationary, and fabric, and perfect for a bedding set.
