This past week I’ve spent a lot of my studio time continuing my exploration of gouache painting. I was challenged with creating a winter scene. I decided to take the challenge and painted a simple scene and I thoroughly enjoyed it very much. My daughter encouraged me to continue to paint some more landscapes and scenes. That was the small push I needed to continue the exploration and study. I am excited to share some of the projects I’ve worked on so far. I decided to first take some classes from other artists to understand the process and then make it my own. While I prefer to create based on inspiration, this little guidance gave me more clarity on how to approach my paintings. I was able to make the learning paintings my own and started my own collection inspired by my vacations, favorite places, and love for the beach and the ocean. I will continue to share the progress in these weekly updates but today I am excited to share some pictures of some of the work so far.

Painting flowers is always my go-to as a warm-up and for creating. I love it. I usually paint flowers as a starting point to get inspiration. This is also true for most of my art prints and products but I am looking forward to sharing more scenes, landscapes, and a lot more in this beautiful journey of art creation.

These next ones are a bit of a work in progress. Just to give you a peek at the behind-the-scenes process.
