My two favorite painting techniques are watercolor painting and gouache painting. These are my go-to analog painting techniques and I absolutely love them.
Watercolor is very organic, flowing, and surprising while gouache requires more planning and technique. Over the last several weeks I have been doing an exploration using jelly gouache. I’ve found that it is a bit different than the tube gouache paint but still a great medium that creates a lovely painterly look with lots of texture.
Below are some pictures of the actual paintings. Some of them I’ve been able to scan and create fun and beautiful patterns with.

If you want to try and create some fun, painterly and gorgeous designs on your own, below are some of the tools I’ve been using.
Once I create the art, I scan my designs at high resolution and use Photoshop or Affinity Photo to remove the background and get the motifs ready for my designs.

I am excited and looking forward to creating more collections using gouache as the main medium.
